MELBOURNE, Australia – August 5, 2021— Xplor Technologies, a global platform integrating software, payments, and commerce-enabling solutions for businesses in Education, Boutique Wellness, Health and Fitness, Field Services, and Personal Services, has today announced it has agreed to support The Smith Family – Australia’s leading children’s education charity – to support disadvantaged young Australians through education.
The new relationship will help leave a lasting impact on the next generation of young Australians, with Xplor Education committing to directly supporting 150 students through The Smith Family’s Learning for Life program. The Learning for Life program is delivered across 91 communities around Australia. It provides students and families with a combination of financial assistance for education essentials such as uniforms, school supplies and school excursions; tailored personal support from a Smith Family team member; and access to extra out-of-school learning and mentoring programs – all of which Xplor Education will contribute to supporting.
Over three million people, including three-quarters of a million children, are living in poverty in Australia1. Research has shown early intervention is the key to preventing entrenched disadvantage, highlighting a direct correlation between external support and the rates of high school graduation and university enrolment. The partnership will see Xplor supporting young Australians from disadvantaged backgrounds through primary, secondary and tertiary education in the hopes of helping them to reach their full potential in future.
CEO of Xplor Education, Mark Woodland, said The Smith Family is a natural fit for Xplor as both organisations are passionate about delivering quality education to children. “I am constantly inspired by how passionate our employees are about giving back to their communities. This year especially, our teams have come together with the Smith Family to support families facing unprecedented challenges. Together we’ll get through even the hardest times.”
The Smith Family CEO, Dr Lisa O’Brien said, “It’s vital to help Australian children in need, by giving them the hands-on support they need to fit in and keep up at school, and achieve educationally so that they can go on to a brighter future. With one in eight Australians living in poverty, this is particularly important now post-Covid. Working together, we can help disadvantaged children and young people and support them to reach their full potential. We’re extremely grateful to Xplor for helping us to do this.”
As the leading provider of childcare software solutions in Australia, Xplor is passionate about making education great again and helping people succeed. A perfect complement to The Smith Family and its national programs, the strategic partnership is set to make a difference in the lives of thousands of disadvantaged children over the next few years by providing opportunities for these young people to thrive.
